Roughly 50 cars have been smeared with what seems to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Vehicles, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were alerted late on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The fluid had been applied in the form of a swastika, they reported.
Officers then located multiple other vandalized cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement state preliminary tests suggest the substance was probably human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the occurrence," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the community for tips.
An important official stated the vandalism made him speechless and required to be solved rapidly.
"This event affects the center of Hanau and revives the pain of the extremist violent incident in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine individuals by a assailant aiming at people of immigrant origin in 2020.
